SERVICOM TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR STAFF MEMBERS OF FMC YENAGOA ON SERVICE DELIVERY AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
The SERVICOM Unit of the Federal Medical Centre Yenagoa, organized a 1-day workshop titled SERVICE DELIVERY AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE. The training was held for 3 days for over 750 staffs spread across all departments in batches of a minimum of 250 staffs daily. It commenced on the 22nd August through 24th August, 2023 and held in the Omale O. Omale hall.
The Nodal Officer of SERVICOM FMC Yenagoa, Dr. Oyinkondu Collins Koroye welcomed the invited staff of FMC Yenagoa, stressing the need for periodic training exercises to keep them abreast with up-to-date knowledge and skill set needed for optimal service delivery in their various departments and units as staff and public servants.
In his opening address, the Acting Medical Director, Dr. Peter Alabrah again welcomed the staff of FMC Yenagoa, lauding SERVICOM for putting together the training workshop. He emphasized the importance of staff training in service delivery and promised that more trainings like this are in the works. On that note he declared the training workshop open.
The training workshop educated participants on the principles of SERVICOM and service delivery in a hospital setting. It enhanced participants’ emotional intelligence to improve patient interactions and team collaboration. It also emphasized the need to develop effective healthcare communication skills among participants, familiarized participants with public service rules and their application in healthcare and emphasized the importance of basic customer care and customer-focused service delivery.
The workshop aimed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary for delivering exceptional service, improving patient experience, and fostering a patient-centered healthcare environment. Participants were encouraged to apply the learned concepts in their daily practice to create a positive impact on patient care and hospital operations.
