I have been hearing about PT-number what does it mean
PT-number is the electronic recorded number for an individual patient just like your folder contains a folder number which is used to identify each patient so also is the PT-number.
Difference between the folder number and the PT-number is that :
The PT-number is an electronic/Computer identified patient number.
The PT-number must contain the alphabet PT before the numeral value e.g. pt-7890
Note: The pt before the numbers is not case sensitive i.e it can be a small letter or a capital letter.
Can I walk into the Hospital to do a test given by a doctor from another Hospital?
You can work into the lab and make the necessary payment and submit the samples as requested so that the test can be performed without necessary going through the records department.
What happens if I need a prescription?
For you to get a prescription you must see a doctor first which you will have to pass through the records department
